Gambling Stories
What Could Be Knocking On Your Back Door
Stories of gambling and scandal at institutions of higher education have become commonplace in America today. We now live in a society that openly encourages gambling. Most states have lotteries, many have established sites for legal casino gambling, and the Internet has made gambling accessible to almost everyone. The increased media coverage of sporting events has also contributed to a significant increase in sports betting in the United States. Most often these accounts focus on college athletes and how they have strayed from the path of morality. Unfortunately, gambling is not an endemic reserved for athletes. This is an issue that affects all sorts of college students. The promise of quick riches is very common in college because these students are working full time on their academics and sacrificing their social life by having lesser monetary items. To prevent others from suffering the losses that many have already felt I offer my report, which tells the story of a group of college students, who all became entangled in the world of gambling.
