American imperialism
“Oh my god, another plane just hit the second Trade Tower” these are the familiar words that followed the Terrorists Attacks on September 11, 2001. These attacks will never be justified, but they can be understood. It is hard for an American to believe that such a crime could be understood, but there is a psychology behind this madness. The reason the terrorist attacked the United States on September 11 is due to the imperialistic influence of American culture, politics and beliefs upon the people of the world which have poisoned and destroyed other countries cultures and governments.
You have heard of imperialist countries like England, France and Japan, but have you ever looked at what imperialism really is? “Imperialism is the practice by which powerful nations or peoples seek to extend and maintain control or influence over weaker nations or peoples” (Encarta NP). Now if this is the definition of imperialism then the United States is most definitely an Imperialist Nation.
